Dominica Foods And Cuisine

This idea is inspired dining room having to read about Dominica.

Elsewhere I read that Dominica is not your ordinary fun in the island a little Sun It is a mysterious, romantic, natural island where there is a French-Creole culture, with the nuances of a British heritage.

Dominica is a small island located between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean and this is definitely on my list of countries to visit.

While many of my friends know the name of the country and have a rough idea of his whereabouts, few know its history. A dinner is the ideal way to share my interest in finding new friends with the introduction to his food tasty and perhaps share a bit about what I know now. Most likely that is received in the lists of friends visiting conditions.

A little about the foods of Dominica:

Dominica's food is very fresh and healthy and is often cooked in a Creole style sauce or dish made especially with tomatoes, peppers, onions, celery, and seasonings. While most of the island Dominica Creole cuisine, you can also enjoy Continental and North America kitchens as well. Fresh fish and seafood are on every menu.

Dominica cuisine is simple and that's a good start. It consists of fried chicken basic dishes seafood and Creole cuisine such as callaloo Columbo and goat soup (a type of cream of spinach soup). Roti, curry-filled flat bread is a staple in the Caribbean.

The cuisine is based on crops like yam or turnip, spinach, watercress, chicken, goat and other aquatic invertebrates (fish, crabs, lobsters and octopus). Meat is one of the main elements of most Dominican dishes and cured and smoked hams are often used in your kitchen.

The food is often flavored with ground aroma of curry and coconut milk. Fresh herbs such as parsley, celery, chives, cinnamon, thyme, nutmeg and cloves are also commonly used in the kitchen.

Bello Hot Pepper Sauce is made locally and served everywhere with almost everything. Contains Scotch Bonnet peppers, papaya, onion, vinegar, salt and spices.

Inviting guests

Ask your guests to come dressed for the occasion – what would wear to a dinner of the Caribbean on the beach? – Shorts, flowing shirts, straw hats?

To set the scene

Dominica is a beautiful Caribbean island – so this is a great summer party idea and the perfect dinner for outdoor activities. This will be a low key affair to be enjoyed by all.

Light your dining area with candles or lanterns hanging – You want a laid back, relax sitting by the evening.

Place some exotic flowers as its centerpiece or a beautiful hand painted candles in the program. Alternatively, place a wicker basket full of exotic fruit somewhere in your room and well lit.

Maybe greet your guests with a cocktail – maybe a Pina Colada with coconut pineapple popular flavors.

Some music playing in the background – Calypso, Reggae or Smooth Jazz.

Food

Dominica's people prefer light and spicy fish or seafood dishes served with plenty of vegetables. The visual appeal, as the balance between colors and proportion are important.

A typical meal eaten by a Dominican family could be Black bean soup, corn Mero and coconut pudding can be cooked or one of many Creole recipes available online.

After your meal, you can also serve as a new exotic dish sliced tropical fruits like mangoes, bananas, guavas, tangerines, oranges, pineapple and papaya.

At night, you could even educate your friends in Dominica, which celebrates its 30 years of independence.

I love good food and good wine and I love to socialize. Dinner parties give me the opportunity to indulge both my passions. I love dinner parties so much that I host a blog which provides ideas for your next dinner party.

They provide such a great way to catch up with the important people in your life.

People love to be invited to dinner parties because they can enjoy an excellent event of great food and company and all it costs usually is a bottle of wine – and maybe a taxi fare home. But it’s not about the money – it’s just great to be spoiled by your hosts.
