Caribbean Holidays With Children
The Caribbean is best acknowledged as a destination for couples; it is a romantic escape in an amazingly beautiful part of the world. And, for many visitors, part of the point of going there is to stay away from children. Quite a few hotels around the area do not allow children at certain times of the year in order not to upset their guests.
It does not have to be reminiscent of this of course. Gradually, more over the last few years, it has become frequent for whole families to travel together, at Christmas time and in the holidays, particularly in the low season of Caribbean in the summers.
Many large hotels have responded by constructing facilities for children, with individual programmes to keep them busy while you contemplate on essential pursuits such as sunbathing. There are even hotels that are purposely designed for children, with ongoing programmes of sports and activities. The islands that offer the finest facilities tend to be the ones with direct air access, including Barbados, Antigua and St. Lucia. They also have some of the best beach amenities for children.
Of course, an additional good way to travel with children is to stay in a villa. These have increased in a great deal as increasing numbers of visitors have built holiday homes. You do not need to worry about them, distressing the other guests. They can run noisy to their hearts at ease in the garden. Also, the self-catering characteristic and the very individual contact with the staff work for the most part well with a family.
Travelling on Caribbean Holidays as a family can be a great escapade. Young ones can get to see things, in addition to meeting people and do stuff that they just do not get a chance to do any other time. Adults often find that they gain a very different standpoint on a place when visiting with children, and in many parts of the Caribbean, travelling with children opens up many prospects to be welcomed by, and to get to know locals. For the whole family, travelling can be a time to get to know each other again, away from the loads of work and/or schooling.
Caribbean Holidays can, in point of fact, be cheaper than the Mediterranean if you have a child over 2. There are an astounding number of free child places/reduced flights/free nights, which make the Caribbean an excellent choice for travelling with young children. Children aged 2-11 sharing your room pay a nominal £275 or less at most of the recommended hotels. This makes a package in May, for example, cheaper than a lot of summer Mediterranean packages. For instance, 2 adults, sharing with another couple in a 2 bed 2 bath villas can travel in May to Barbados, staying at Settlers Beach for around £2500. A comparable package in early July to Corsica for example would cost around £3000. Also, if you can travel as a group of 4 or 6, you can often get startling deals on villas, often with free nanny hours; Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia is a great case in point.
Overall, Caribbean Holidays should be on your mind this summer, and do not forget the kids, because they are sure to have as much fun as yourself.
